Carlos, lovingly known as “Chatito,” was a young person whose smile and personality left an impression on the people around him.
He loved being outdoors. He enjoyed playing football with the neighborhood kids and riding his bike with his friends.
Carlos loved talking to people. He didn't care about age differences or whether someone was already part of his circle. He wanted to be friends with everyone.
He was respectful, making eye contact and giving a firm handshake. People noticed his smile, his humor, and the way he could make people laugh.
Carlos was more than the way his life ended. He was a son, a friend, a brother, a family member, and a person who brought his own unique light into the lives of others.
These are the qualities and memories we hope continue to live on through The Chatito Project.

Carlos “Chatito” is laid to rest in Elgin, Texas.

Carlos always enjoyed being the center of attention, so we like to imagine he would be happy knowing people are still talking about him, remembering his smile, and keeping his memory alive.
